01What PRUF Is

1.1A Private Network

PRUF is a private platform operated by PRUF Systems Inc. Access is a privilege, not a right. Verification as human grants entry. Continued adherence to these terms maintains access.

1.2Not Social Media

PRUF does not serve advertisements, deploy engagement algorithms, sell user data, or optimize for time-on-screen. The network is funded by optional paid features.

1.3Infrastructure, Not Landlord

PRUF provides verification infrastructure and storage. PRUF does not curate content, recommend connections, or editorialize feeds, and does not use algorithms designed to hold your attention. When you post, you choose who sees it: the people who follow you, or everyone. There is no machine learning, no behavioral profile of you, and no optimization for time spent.

02Identity and Verification

2.1One Human, One Hash

Each human may hold exactly one account on PRUF. Your identity is a random cryptographic token minted during verification. Attempting to create multiple accounts constitutes a violation of these terms.

2.2Verification

Verification confirms you are a live human, through a live on-device check and device attestation, without storing your personal data. Your account identity is a random cryptographic token with no mathematical relationship to your body. PRUF stores no biometric data and nothing derived from it.

2.3Handle Assignment

Upon verification, you may claim a public handle in the format @name.node (e.g., @maya.lax). Your handle includes your chosen name and the node where you verified. Handles cannot be transferred, sold, or reassigned.

2.4Recovery

Account recovery requires multiple identity factors. If you lose access to your recovery code and your device, recovery may be impossible. PRUF cannot override the authentication system because PRUF does not possess your biometric data.

Keep your recovery code safe. It is shown once and never again.

03Content and Conduct

3.1Your Content, Your Hash

Content you post belongs to your hash. PRUF does not claim ownership, license rights, or derivative rights over your content. We do not use your content for advertising, AI training, or any purpose beyond storage and display within the network.

3.2Verified Photos

Photos captured with PRUF's verified camera carry a certification confirming that the camera was looking at real three-dimensional space at the time of capture, on an attested device, by a verified human. This certifies provenance — who captured it, where and when — and rejects flat subjects such as screens. It does not certify that the subject in frame is not a reproduction. Verified photos display a trust indicator visible to all users.

3.3Content Moderation

All content is subject to automated review before publishing. Content that violates community guidelines may be blocked before it reaches other users. Additionally, any user may flag any post for human review.

Prohibited content includes:

• Nudity or sexual content
• Hate speech or slurs targeting protected groups
• Graphic violence or gore
• Harassment, bullying, or targeted attacks
• Personal information of others (doxxing)
• Spam or commercial solicitation
• Promotion of illegal activities or substances
• Credible threats of violence
• Child sexual abuse material (CSAM)
• AI-generated or deepfake imagery presented as verified
• Misinformation presented as fact

3.4Moderation Process

• AI Pre-Scan. Every post is analyzed before publishing. Content that clearly violates guidelines is blocked automatically. You are notified but not given specific details (to prevent gaming the system).
• User Flagging. Any user may flag a post they believe violates guidelines. Posts flagged by multiple users are automatically hidden pending review.
• AI Review. Flagged content is re-analyzed with the community feedback as context.
• Capacity. During beta PRUF operates with a small team and does not review individual moderation outcomes. Withheld content is not restored on request.

3.5What Is NOT Prohibited

PRUF does not prohibit speech based on political viewpoint, religious belief, or ideological position. Moderation targets conduct (harassment, threats, illegal content), not opinion. Profanity alone is not a violation. Strong language, satire, and passionate debate are permitted.

04Strikes and Enforcement

4.1Strike System

Violations of community guidelines result in strikes against your hash.

4.2Immediate Action

Content classified as illegal (CSAM, terrorism, exploitation, credible threats of imminent violence) results in immediate permanent suspension. No strikes. No warnings. No appeal.

PRUF will comply with applicable legal reporting requirements, including mandatory reporting of CSAM to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC).

4.3Strike Reset

Strikes reset after 6 months of clean behavior (no removed content).

4.4No Appeal During Beta

PRUF operates with a small team during beta and does not review individual moderation outcomes. If your content is withheld, it will not be reinstated on request and no appeal is available. You remain free to post again. This is a limitation of our current capacity, not a judgment about you, and it will change as the team grows.

4.5PRUF's Role

PRUF retains final enforcement discretion under Section 230(c)(2) of the Communications Decency Act. The moderation system is a good-faith content moderation mechanism. PRUF may take direct action against accounts for legal compliance and imminent safety threats.

05Account Termination

5.1Voluntary Deletion

You may request account deletion at any time through the app settings. Upon deletion, your content is removed and your hash is retired. Anonymous transaction records may remain for system integrity.

5.2Permanent Suspension

Permanent suspension results from accumulating 4 strikes or posting illegal content. Permanently removed users are barred from re-enrollment through device attestation and account-creation controls. All privileges are permanently revoked.

5.3Inactive Accounts

PRUF has no mechanism to verify death or extended absence because PRUF does not know who you are. Inactive accounts remain indefinitely.

06Limitation of Liability

PRUF provides verification infrastructure, storage, and dispute resolution. PRUF does not guarantee the accuracy of automated moderation decisions. PRUF's total liability shall not exceed the amount paid by the claimant in the 12 months preceding the claim.

PRUF provides the infrastructure. Humans provide the judgment.

07Changes to These Terms

Updated terms will be published at pruf.net/terms with a changelog. Notification will be delivered through in-app notification. Continued use constitutes acceptance. If you disagree, you may request account deletion.

08Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States.
